About Us

Since 1994, Kristl Konstruction has been a premier boutique builder specializing in custom homes and remodels. Founded by Roman Kristl, our company is built on a foundation of European craftsmanship and a personalized, hands-on approach to every project.

Roman, a native of Slovakia, began his building career at the age of 15, learning the value of a disciplined work ethic and meticulous attention to detail. This background inspires his holistic design philosophy, which considers not just the structure of a home, but how people interact within the space. He is personally involved from a project's inception to its completion, ensuring a seamless process and the highest level of quality control.

At Kristl Konstruction, we believe a home should be intuitive, inviting, and a true reflection of its owners. We are dedicated to creating spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional, delivering an unmatched client experience through a cohesive and dedicated team.

Jakub Kristl

Builder & Principal at Kristl Konstruction Montana

Jakub Kristl is a third-generation builder whose passion for craftsmanship began early—at the age of four, when he received his first tool belt from his father, Roman. His professional journey started at 18 as an apprentice carpenter building barns for a traveling construction company. But it was after college, in 2015, that Jakub fully committed to the building profession, living on job sites and immersing himself in every aspect of construction, from plan reading to layout and execution.

In 2018, Jakub was promoted to foreman for a custom home project in Carmel, California, where he gained hands-on experience in all stages of residential construction—from concrete and framing to finish work. During this time, he shadowed his father, learning the behind-the-scenes aspects of building: subcontractor coordination, pre-construction planning, design, engineering, and client communication.

By 2020, Jakub had risen to superintendent and “super producer” within the company, helping lead Kristl Konstruction’s expansion to a 13-person team managing up to five high-end custom projects simultaneously. The company’s reputation for craftsmanship, innovation, and uncompromising quality continued to grow under Jakub’s leadership, as they delivered one-of-a-kind homes using materials and methods that challenged even the most experienced builders.

In 2022, Jakub launched a new branch of Kristl Konstruction in Whitefish, Montana. There, he faced the challenge of building a new subcontractor network from scratch—carefully vetting partnerships and holding true to his high standards. His team completed two Scandinavian contemporary homes in Whitefish, each setting a new bar for quality and detail in the region’s market.

Today, Jakub leads Kristl Konstruction of Montana with the same philosophy that has guided his career: build it right, build it beautiful, and never compromise on quality. With a skilled crew and trusted partners behind him, Jakub continues to create custom homes and remodels that inspire, elevate, and transform the lives of his clients.
